Conflict of Interest Policy
Principles for identifying and managing conflicts that could affect impartial recognition review.
What is a conflict?
A conflict may exist where a reviewer, administrator or decision-maker has a personal, professional, financial or other relationship that could reasonably affect, or appear to affect, impartiality.
Examples
- Family or close personal relationship.
- Employment or business relationship.
- Financial interest.
- Previous direct involvement in the achievement.
- Commercial interest in the outcome.
Management
Material conflicts should be disclosed and appropriately managed. Where necessary, PAR may remove or replace the conflicted person from the relevant review or decision.
Commercial independence
Payment for an application, administrative service, publication or promotional service does not guarantee recognition or award selection.
